Gloria "Mama Glo" Williams is Louisiana's longest-serving incarcerated woman.
On July 22, 2019 the Louisiana Board of Pardons and Parole issued a favorable recommendation for commutation of her sentence.
But before she could become eligible for parole, Governor John Bel Edwards had to approve the recommendation.
759 days later, on August 19, 2021, he finally did so.
Today, Mama Glo is still imprisoned. We'll keep the counter going until she walks out as a free woman.
