Mew Orleans Suite animated logo.
Suite: in music, group of self-contained instrumental movements of varying character, usually in the same key. During the 17th and 18th centuries, the period of its greatest importance, the suite consisted principally of dance movements.
—Encyclopedia Britannica

In a country founded on puritan ideals, New Orleans is an anomaly. Mardi Gras; Jazz Fest; Bourbon Street: from the time of Iberville and Bienville, New Orleans has always been an attractively exotic destination. New Orleans on a Saturday night is filled with unslakable passions as people dance up the sun. Yet those same Saturday night beasts become peaceful doves on Sunday morning, when they put on their best dress and receive the sanctification of the Holy Ghost.

Join us as we explore the decadence and the holiness, the Dionysian/Elegban expression and the Christian introspection that live side by side in New Orleans—within the city itself, and in each of us. Created collaboratively by performers J Hammons, Yvahn Martin, Maritza Mercado-Narcisse, Kathy Randels, Roscoe Reddix, Jr., sculptor Clifton Webb and composer Courtney Bryan, this original dance, theatre and musical feast celebrates the uniqueness of life in our city.
